I love this cookbook so much. I only recently got into cooking and the recipes it has are easy to follow and delicious. Trisha is such an authentic person and that trait is so evident with this cookbook, and the recipes it contains. I want a Trisha's Table Vol 2!

I have both of Trisa’s other cookbooks and love them as well as her show on Food Network. I’m trying to eat a bit healthier now days so I was thrilled to find she had this one she calls My Feel-Good Favorites for a Balanced Life. No nutritional information in this one, she says she’s a singer and a cook not a nutritionalist. She also says she follows an 80/20 rule of eating healthy 80% of the time while letting herself splurge the other 20%.When my book arrived from Amazon after reading it a bit I decided to make the Hummingbird Pancakes for mine and hubby’s Sunday morning breakfast. We both loved them. I like that there is so much fruit in them and more sliced bananas and strawberries for the topping. I didn’t even need to add syrup to mine as they were delicious. Hubby did add a bit to his along with the leftover crushed pineapple.Next I made Pork Tenderloin with honey mustard glaze. While it was good son and I though a bit on the sweet side for us. It was really tender. After that I made Cornbread Chili Casserole which was very good. I think next time I’ll use my own cornbread recipe though since we prefer our cornbread not sweetened like the boxed kind.Then for my daughter’s and my work lunches I made Orzo Salad which was amazing. Finally I made Beef Stir Fry which hubby and I loved. I did used the option of green beans instead of snow peas since they are cheaper and easier to find here.I’m not though cooking from this one as there are many more recipes I want to try. Things like Edamame Parmesan, Slow Cooker Irish Stout Beef Stew, Wild Rice and Mushroom Soup, Quina Corn Chowder, Spinach Stuffed Shells, Grits and Greens Casserole, Brussels Sprouts with Pistachios, Banana Pudding Cake, and Glazed Lemon Cookies.

What's not to love about Trisha Yearwood"s cooking? She's a Southern girl raised "right" (meaning her family taught her to cook) Love the cookbook and the use of hyperlinks in the font and back to easily find recipes. Love the links to the recipes on the photo page. Favorite recipe is the Hawaiian pancakes. Wow. If you are looking for something different in soups--look here. Tortellini and tomato bisque. Trisha, try tarragon on your homemade croutons. It makes the house smell wonderful. Love the soup section and Julie's pad Thai. (I substituted shrimp for the tofu) Great job I'm looking forward to your next cookbook. I watch you on Saturday"s show with your sister and friends. Love it!

Great book, tons of pictures, and good recipes. They are not all 100% healthy, however she mixes it up with the 80/20 rule which is realistic for most people. I am looking forward to making the tortellini soup.

I now have all three of Tricia’s cookbooks. This one leans more toward healthy meals, which we need to eat more of. Love all three of her cookbooks & her tv cooking show on food network.

Definitely would recommend this book to all home cooks. Southern cooking made easy and delicious. It is my go to cookbook.

Easy to follow recipes using everyday ingredients. Love the additional tips and stories included. All recipes we've fixed so far are very tasty!

I LOVE Trisha Yearwood so I was excited to see she has a cookbook! I've made quite a few recipes so far and haven't found one that I didn't like. Her cornbread chili bake is AMAZING. Highly recommend this cookbook for anyone!

This has a lot of interesting gourmet ice cream recipes. I am a pretty simple kind of girl. I really wasn't looking for gourmet ice cream recipes, so for me it was a little disappointing. But if you like those sorts of things this definitely your type of book! I gave it 3 stars because it didn't meet my needs, but that doesn't mean it won't meet the fancy cooks needs ha! You will probably love it!

This book is really great and my wife really loves it too! I guess that's what really matters lol. We really like the cookie dough ice cream recipe too.I recommend purchasing it because it's great to have all these delicious recipes on demand :)

Received this book today! Is excellent but mostly all the same recipes I have were identical in my Complete Cuisinart Ice Cream Book. Multiple identical recipes except this book is adapted to the Kitchenaid mixer. How did I get so fooled??? The authors of both books are different names, so expected different recipes; assuming each book was different. Was I wrong! They are written by same person. The inside sheets are identical in looks, typo, etc. So either buy one book OR other, not both. One of the books are worthwhile, but you don't need both.

I admit that I buy a lot of books - ALOT of books. But I start them, and never finish. That was not the case with this book. I was drawn in from page one and while I didn't finish the book in one sitting, I finished the book in a few days. I took it with me everywhere because I wanted to see "what comes next" in Kate Motaung's story. I cried with her during her visits with her mom who had cancer. I applauded her decisions to follow her heart. I saw devotion to her husband Kagiso and their love of their three children. Growing up in Michigan and settling in South Africa is intriguing to me. I wanted to read more and know more. The dialog was beautiful with descriptions of places and events that opened the windows to what Kate wanted readers to experience as she experienced them. Throughout the book, Kate chose the perfect passages of scripture to support her story. Every time a passage was woven into the paragraph, I thought, 'Yes. Yes, that one is just right for this moment." Many of the verses, prompted me to think about how my life might be affected and I had to write them down. While this book wasn't intended to be a text book, it taught me things from the textbook on life.

(She did not give herself this title. I did. I don’t remember why, but it’s stuck in my brain). We have chatted via Twitter, Voxer and blog comments. As I’m sure others can attest, Kate has the unique gift of making one feel at home; I don’t doubt that, were I to show up in her driveway today, that I would be welcomed inside for tea and good conversation.This is part of what made this book so fascinating for me. Kate writes of being torn between houses following her parents’ divorce and between continents after moving to South Africa in her early twenties. Her story is one of longing for home, of never quite knowing where or what that place is. Out of that longing, I believe she strives to give others a sense of comfort and security. Even those of us who have only connected with her through electronic means pick up on this and celebrate her gift of welcoming embrace.Ultimately, and encouragingly, Kate reminds both herself and the reader that our true Home, the place our souls ache for, is not to be found in this life. We get teases, little glimpses, that give us hope and keep us going when things get hard, but we never get the full picture. We have to wait. So we sit in the discomfort, knowing that all is not as it should be, asking Jesus to daily give us the grit and the grace to navigate yet another bump in the road.The pages of A Place to Land are full of honesty and humor. Kate looks unflinchingly at herself and allows us to do so as well. In that, we are given permission to be that honest. To acknowledge that we don’t always know the answers or do the right things. Her choice to tell her story in such a raw way is deeply refreshing. There are no neat and tidy bows, no pristine images of perfect kids and conflict-free living. There is, instead, a woman who consistently, constantly, preaches Jesus. His presence, His love, His guidance, His help. Over and over again, Kate finds Him in the middle of the mess. I read this book in one day as I could not put it down, and wished it would never end. Kate writes in an extremely honest and real way that it just draws you into the story and you feel like you are living it with her. She is not afraid to share her raw feelings and because of this it was so easy to relate and feel understood in my own experiences and struggles with divorced parents. Curt Dudley-Marling is a professor in the Lynch School of Education at Boston College, where he teaches courses in literacy and language arts.
