About the Author

J. Bruce Jones is a Massachusetts based business graphic designer, software developer, musician and independent video producer. Bruce is the creator of the World Of Maps clip art collection of editable outline PowerPoint and Adobe Illustrator maps for graphic design, websites, education, presentations and marketing. Bruce has been drawing and creating World, Regional, USA, State, County, Countries, and Global maps since 1990. Along with producing blank, outline maps, Bruce is also the developer of Antique and Historical Maps, a collection of 125 antique and historical royalty free maps from 1500s to the 1900s used for graphic design, illustration, web sites and education. Bruce is the creator of two additional map coloring books: World Maps and Globes Coloring Book: Outline and Detailed Maps for Coloring, Home School and Education; and World Regional Maps Coloring Book: Maps of World Regions, Continents, World Projections, USA and Canada. Bruce is also an active musician and long time participant in the Summer Acoustic Music Week with WUMB Folk Radio in Boston. I have an 11, 9, and 6 year old that I home school. Geography is a class that I view as extremely important, and teach it as a group. I wish I would have purchased this book at the beginning because it would have save a good bit of time in searching for various maps to print. The maps and info are basic, but basic is a great place to start. You will obviously expound on the details based on the level of learning you desire, but this book will be a time saver.

Great for kids. Beats electronic crap

My 5 year old twin grandsons are the "intellectual" type and love anything to do with maps, states or countries. And they love artwork so this coloring book really hit the jackpot!!

Excellent way to learn about our 50 states...the information included is perfect and the shape of each state is outstanding...I am really getting to know our country...thank you for this great book!

I would be happy to give this book five stars in that I have always liked its lively and excited presentations of events from the past. Yet truth is that it is biased towards Russian and English history, and sometimes it is more akin to story telling than to history. Nevertheless, these are fun stories, and for those that have read part of them elsewhere, these are entertaining remembrances. Likewise the math: if you have not read about these concepts elsewhere, the book might be difficult, but if you have, then you will appreciate the diversity.

Very sketchy overview, but it is OK if it is only that what you are looking for.

Highly recommended for those interested in just the story of Fluid Mechanics, the book contains very good illustrations which complements it.
