Excellent resource for learning MPLS. The author does a great job of breaking down MPLS into manageable piecesand then slowly builds up to more complex scenarios.I recently completed the entire book and I have to say it is the most complete and well organized MPLS resourcethat I have seen.
Gives a rather shallow explanation of MPLS. Touches a lot of topics, but does not explain why and how about many things it touches. You need to consult internet a lot of times for understanding what the writer means. It does not lay the basic foundations either. This book is for those who already know a lot about MPLS, and want to read a bit more about things around MPLS...
Although this book does cover most aspects of MPLS, it is not nearly as in depth as I'd hoped. It's an odd book b/c it's not necessarily for beginners either as the topics move by quickly. Literally, 75-80% of the pages are filled with config and config output. It's good if you are following along as a lab and you need every single command shown to you, but other than that you can get through this book an about 2-3 hours if you are just reading the actual text. There is little explanation of the outputs, just the basics. The book will help if you have a basic understanding of MPLS and would like to move to intermediate, but overall it is lacking depth of any one item. Not deep enough for CCIE and there are no troubleshooting techniques at all.
seems like a good source of info, most useful if you can follow along with GNS3 or similar tools
This book is hand-on approach from the beginning and it helped me break into MPLS world. Of course if you are preparing for CCIE or some hard core troubleshooting, you will be required to do some more reading but I find this book quite effective in teaching its matter.
